Blackwater River – Class II
Webster, NH
New England Regional Team Qualifier #2

Beginner class available for those who don't feel they are quite ready for Class II water. If you watch the video, this class usually starts in the eddy around Gate 9 and removes a few of the tougher gates through the finish for novice paddlers. If you've completed the Basic Course and are comfortable paddling at Sunnyside in Spring, this race is recommended.

Practice Saturday; racers meeting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Spectator access is excellent. This course is behind an elementary school in the village park. Non-race points of interest include bucolic New England villages, and an historic railroad covered bridge trail just a short drive away.

Local town provides a hot food 4H stand on-site all day Saturday and Sunday. The Town also offers a Roast Pork Dinner Saturday night, and Sunday morning Breakfast across the street from the race site.

One of Alden's favorites! Camping available on-site. More info, race course video, and registration available on the Blackwater Slalom page.
